Madhuri dixit Madhuri dixit Indian actor who has been known for her roles in Hum Aapke Hing Koun (Beta Saajan) and Beta Saajan is among the most well-known Indian actors. She was first known for the role she played in the 1980s film Tezaab, in which she co-starred along with an established actor Anil Koopor. The next film she appeared in was Dil which she shared screen space with Aamir. In Mumbai her home, she grew up by middle class parents. When she was a young age, she started to take dance lessons. As a teen, she tried her hand at acting, however most of those early films did not succeed. Eventually, she found success with Indian cinema and rose to the very top. After her wedding, she took a career break before reentering the industry. Recenty, she had an important role on the film Gulaab Gang. The film focused on the struggles of women across India. Dixit was nominated for 15 Filmfare Awards. Of these she's received 8. The actress was also honoured with her Padma Shri the fourth highest civilian award in India. She has also been recognized for her work in the social sector.
